UALR Track and Field Competes at Rhodes College Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn.The UALR men’s and women’s track and field team competed at the Rhodes Invitational Saturday.  The Trojans placed in the top five 15 times throughout the meet.

 

In the 10,000-meter run, Ashley Tiner placed third in the women’s event in 37:21.20, while Charlie Cox was the top Trojan finisher in the men’s event placing eighth in 31:57.52.  Derek Allen finished the event in 32:20.82 for 12th place.

 

Leigh Ann Moore placed 24th in the women’s 5,000 meters in 20:13.14, and Taylor Brock finished the event in 20:54.91.  Brendan Sickles finishes the men’s event in 31st place with a time of 16:22.76.

 

In the women’s 1,500-meter run, Grace Rich placed fourth in 4:44.43.  In the men’s event, Jonathan Cherono finished in tenth place in 4:02.82, while Ondrej Puskar recorded a time of 4:05.61 for 14th place.

 

Britney Allen placed second in the women’s 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.61 and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.93.  Jeremie Schwartz finished the men’s 400-meter hurdles in 56.13 for ninth place.

 

Pepper Foster placed third in the women’s 200-meter dash in 25.26 and fifth in the 100 meters in 12.37. 

 

In the men’s 400-meter dash, Daniel Ladd placed third recording a time of 50.21.

 

Demond Burns placed first in both the 100 meters in 10.81 and in the 200 meters in 21.55.  Ramon Stewart placed third in the 100 meters in 10.88 and fifth in the 200 meters in 22.22.

 

In the women’s 800-meter run, Sheena Howell finished in 39th place in 247.68, while Vladimir Findra placed fifth in the men’s event in 1:56.34.  Darrell Moore finished the event in 2:00.00 for 19th place.

 

Nicole Smith recorded a time of 11:39.63 for eighth place in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Barrett Kerth placed tenth in the men’s event in 10:08.29.

 

Marquis Lewis placed seventh in the long jump with a distance of 6.28m and 17th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.64m.

 

Kirby Atkins finished first in the discus with a distance of 49.55m and second in the hammer with a distance of 51.94m, while Casey Canady placed 16th in the discus with a throw of 36.66m and 11th in the shot put with a throw of 12.64m.
