SPRINGS, Ark.—The UALR women’s basketball team advanced
to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semi-finals for the fifth-straight season
and will face Florida Atlantic Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Summit Arena. Broadcast

The Trojans enter the
contest 18-12 overall and defeating South Alabama for the second-straight
season in the quarterfinals 60-54.
In that game, freshman Taylor Gault recorded a career-high 29
points, while sophomore Taylor Ford added
ten points. Senior Marian Kursh led
the team in rebounds with 14, and senior Britteni
Williams added ten boards.
Overall for the Trojans,
Gault continues to lead the Trojans averaging 16 points per game, while Kursh
averages a team-high in rebounds with eight per game.
Florida Atlantic also
received a first round bye into the tournament after finishing the regular
season second in the Sun Belt Conference East Division.
The Owls won the team’s
quarterfinal match-up against North Texas 56-55 as a last second rebound secured
the win. FAU is now 17-11 overall for the season.
Overall for Florida
Atlantic, Chenise Miller leads the team in points averaging 10.8 per game and
in rebounds averaging 7.4 per game.
This will be the first
meeting between the Trojans and the Owls in post-season action. UALR leads the
all-time series record 6-0 against FAU.
In the team’s only meeting
this season, the Trojans defeated Florida Atlantic 60-38 using a 20-0 run to
end the first half and being the second. Gault led the team in points with 21,
while Kursh recorded a double-double with 11 points and a team high ten rebounds.
Britteni Williams added ten points and nine boards in the win.
