LITTLE ROCK - Head swimming coach Amy Burgess and the UALR swim team have announced plans to host the Trojan Swim Academy this summer, a swim lesson program for children ages 4-12 at the Donaghey Center Natatorium.
Group lessons will be offered in four different two-week sessions beginning June 4. Children of all swimming abilities are welcome to participate, but spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Groups will meet Monday-Thursday for two consecutive weeks (eight total lessons). Session dates are listed below.
Session 1: June 4-7 & June 11-14
Session 2: June 18-22 & June 25-27
Session 3: July 9-12 & July 16-19
Session 4: July 23-27 & July 30-Aug. 2
Fridays will be reserved to make up any lessons cancelled due to inclement weather. No make-up classes or refunds will be allowed for personal absences.
Cost is $60 for all eight lessons. Groups will be no larger than four children of similar abilities. Please make checks payable to "Trojan Swim Academy." Payment is due the first day of lessons and can be brought to the first lesson.
Participants will meet in the DSC Aquatic Center on the south end of the pool by the bleachers. Each group will be led by a UALR swim team member and supervised by the UALR coaching staff. Lifeguards will be on duty.
Groups will be determined by swimming ability and age. Every child will be encouraged to try something new and develop their skills in each session.
