- The UALR men's cross country team moved up one spot to No. 14 in the most
recent United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association
(USTFCCCA) South Central Region poll. The Trojans made the jump following their
performance Saturday at the 24th Annual Chile Pepper Festival in
Fayetteville, Ark.
The region's top five remained unchanged, with Texas,
Arkansas, Texas A&M, McNeese State and Lamar holding onto spots 1-5,
respectively.
The UALR men placed 15th of 34 teams in the
10K on Saturday at the Chile Pepper Festival. Felix Maritim led the squad by placing 55th of 313
runners in a time of 32:15.4 Shaun Koehn
finished 76th (32:36.4) and John
Vodacek finished 92nd (32:50.0) to round out the Trojans'
top-three finishers.
Also for the Trojans, Gabriel Ghioca placed 116th (33:09.4), Chris Dunbar placed 125th
(33:17.6) and Brock Hime placed 159th
(33:46.0).
The Trojans have next weekend off and will now begin
preparing for the Sun Belt Championships on Oct. 27 in Bowling Green, Ky.
