SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The UALR women's golf team leads the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial after two rounds of play, with four Trojans ranked in the top-12 on the individual leader board. Senior Emelie Westrup and sophomore Sofia Berglund are tied for second and fifth place, respectively, after 36 holes, to help the Trojans take a seven-stroke lead over Missouri State into Tuesday's final round.
The Trojans were tied with Missouri State for first place after one round at 10-over par 298 at the 6,104-yard, par 72 Rivercut Golf Course, but moved into sole possession of first place by firing a 295 in the second round. UALR sits at 17-over par 593 after the first day of competition, followed by Missouri State (298-302 - 600) and Oral Roberts (308-294 - 602).
Westrup is tied for second place with a team-leading four-over par 148 total (76-72), with Berglund tied for fifth place at five-over par 149 (73-76). Junior Brynn Donovan is one-shot back of Berglund in a tie for 10th place at six-over par 150 following an even-par 72 in the second round. Senior Malin Lundberg posted the team's lowest score of the day with a one-under par 71 in the first round, and is currently tied for 12th place at seven-over par 151. Freshman Matilda Lignell is at 14-over par 158 after 36 holes, but provided a counting score in the second round with a three-over par 75.
Missouri State's Emma Clegg fired a 71 in the opening round and sits atop the leader board after two rounds at even-par 144 (71-73). Clegg enters the final round with a four-stroke lead over Westrup, ORU's Shinwoo Lee (76-72) and Oklahoma City's Elia Folch (73-75).
Tuesday's final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
