LITTLE ROCK - Head coach Scott Norwood and has announced the UALR baseball schedule for the upcoming 2013 season. The Trojans will play a 56-game slate regular-season slate featuring matchups against six schools that qualified for 2012 NCAA Regionals before playing in the Sun Belt Tournament in Lafayette, La., May 22-26.

"Between the strength of our non-conference slate and the quality of teams we're set to face in the Sun Belt Conference, I'm very pleased with the strength of our schedule this season," said Norwood. "We play in one of the toughest leagues in the country and are set to play a total of nine games against NCAA Regional teams from last season."

UALR will open its season with eight straight games at Gary Hogan Field, beginning with a three-game weekend series against Evansville on Feb. 15-17. The Trojans will host Louisiana Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 19 before playing a four-game series at Gary Hogan Field against SIU-Edwardsville Feb. 22-24.

The Trojans will have their first road test at Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Feb. 26, and will then return home for a three-game series against Western Illinois (March 1-3) and two midweek matchups against Southeast Missouri (March 5-6).

UALR hits the road on March 8 for a round-robin tournament at Austin Peay, the defending Ohio Valley Conference champ. In addition to a game against the Governors, the tournament will also feature matchups against Creighton, the 2012 Missouri Valley Conference champion, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

UALR will play the first of two regular-season matchups against UT-Arlington on March 12 at Gary Hogan Field. UT-Arlington won the Southland Conference last season before falling in the NCAA Regional in Waco, Texas.

The Trojans open Sun Belt play against in-state rival Arkansas State at home on March 15-17. The Trojans then travel to Louisiana Tech (March 19) for a midweek matchup, and then travels to South Alabama (March 22-24) for its first SBC series of the season away from Gary Hogan Field. The Trojans then play at Stephen F. Austin (March 26) before hosting defending SBC champ ULM in a three-game series at home on March 29-31 to round out the month of March.

UALR plays in-state foe UCA in Conway on April 2 and travels to Middle Tennessee for a weekend series April 5-7. The Trojans play 2012 Summit League champs Oral Roberts (April 10) in a midweek matchup before hosting Louisiana-Lafayette April 12-14.

UALR plays at 2012 Super Regional qualifier Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 16, and then travels to Troy for a weekend series (April 19-21). Another midweek matchup against UT-Arlington (April 23) precedes a home series against Western Kentucky (April 26-28) and another midweek matchup against Stephen F. Austin at Gary Hogan Field (April 30).

A trip to Boca Raton, Fla., to play FAU (May 3-5) begins the month of May for UALR. Next, the Trojans play UCA at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock on May 7 before hosting FIU at Gary Hogan Field the weekend of May 10-12.

UALR wraps up its regular season with in-state rival Arkansas State for a weekend series in Jonesboro on May 16-18.
