SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -
UALR swimming and diving finished fourth with 546 points, just edged out by
Lindenwood with 549 points this past weekend at the Drury Invitational (Nov.
16-17). Incarnate Word won the Invite with 1,074 points.
Leading the way for the Trojans was juniors Kara Raney and Holly Myers in the backstroke events. Raney clocked in at 59.79 in
the 100 while Holly Myers finished took second in the 200 with a time of
Senior Amber Kelly took
third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.68 while freshman Megan Scott took a pair of third places
in diving, tallying 412.35 on the 1-meter springboard and 433.5 on the 3-meter
Kelly also placed fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:11.05) with
Raney taking fourth in the 50 free (24.80).
In the relays, UALR took a pair of thirds with a fourth and
a fifth place. The team of Raney, Kelly, freshman Valeriya Teplova and senior Rebecca McEachern was third in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.13 while Raney,
Kelly, Teplova and Holly Myers took third in the 400 free relay, clocking in at
In the medley relays, the team of Raney, Kelly, Teplova and
freshman Meghan Petersen finished
fourth in the 200 with a time of 1:53.10. That same quartet finished fifth in
the 400 with a time of 4:05.74.
The UALR swimming and diving team returns to action the last
weekend of November when it hosts its annual Christmas Invitational.
