- The UALR men's golf team sits in a tie for fifth place after two rounds at
the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club. Led by sophomore Alfred Kerstis (73-74), who sits at
three-over par through the first two rounds, UALR finished the first day with a
team score of 598 (+22).
Sitting in a tie for first place are LSU and North
Texas, both of which finished with two-round scores of 574 (-2). Host Louisiana
Tech sits alone in third place at 583 (+7) and Texas State is currently in
fourth with a two-round team score of 594 (+18).
Kerstis' score of three-over par puts him in a tie for
16th place amongst all individuals. Sophomore Colby Benton is next in line for UALR, shooting 73 and 76 in his
first and second rounds, respectively, to put him in a tie for 23rd
at 149 (+5). Senior Nicklaus Benton
sits at 150 (+6) after two rounds, and junior Nick Zimmerman fired back-to-back rounds of 76 for day-one total of
152 (+8). Junior Luis Cedeno rounds
out the UALR scoring at 157 (+13) after two rounds of play.
LSU's Andrew Presley sits atop the leaderboard at 136
(-8) after shooting 67 and 69 in his first and second rounds, respectively.
Play at the Argent Financial Classic will resume with a
shotgun start at 8 a.m. for the third and final round on Tuesday.
