Grissom Wins Javelin to lead UALR Track and Field at Red Wolves Open

JONESBORO, Ark. – Junior Rebekah Grissom captured the javelin with a distance of 110’9” (33.77m) to lead the UALR track and field at the Red Wolves Open on Saturday (April 27).

Grissom also finished 11th in the shot put with a distance of 41’1” (12.52m).

Leading the way on the men’s side were freshmen Alex Ebmeyer and Dalton Richey, finishing fourth and fifth in the 800m. Ebmeyer finished in a time of 1:58.69 with Richey right behind at 1:59.02.

In the women’s 400m hurdles, junior Ashtin Boykin took fourth and freshman Brittney Brasuell finished 10th with times of 1:04.96 and 1:08.62, respectively.

To round out the men’s performers, sophomore Casey Lane finished sixth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.08. Freshman Basil Rogers finished the 100m in 11.22 to finish seventh.

Lastly, freshman Victor Shores leapt 20’10” (6.35m) in the long jump to finish ninth.

On the women’s side, freshman Baylee Daves took a pair of eighth-place finishes in the 200m and 400m with times of 27.19 and 1:00.04, respectively. Freshman Therese Moberg finished 10th in the 800m with a mark of 2:33.12 while freshman Kiara Taylor finished the 200m in 28.33 to finish 12th

UALR track and field returns to action May 10-12 when they travel to Miami for the 2013 Outdoor Track and Field SBC Championships.
