LITTLE ROCK – The UALR men’s golf team will head to Ruston, La., to play at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate beginning Monday, Oct. 21. The event will be played on the 7,105-yard, par-72 layout at the Squire Creek Country Club.
The 12-team, 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. start time for both.
In addition to host Louisiana Tech and UALR, Southern Miss, Missouri State, Houston Baptist, McNeese, Southeastern Louisiana, North Texas, Nicholls State, UCA, UNO and Stephen F. Austin will also be competing.
Currently, UALR’s roster features three players ranked in the top-20 of the Sun Belt Conference in scoring. Sophomore Matias Calderon leads the Trojans with a tie for fifth place and an average of 72.00. Senior Nick Zimmerman is in ninth place with a 72.78 average. Junior Alfred Kerstis ranks 19th in the conference with an average of 73.56.
Following this event, the Trojans will compete in the last event of the fall season at the ASU Fall Beach Classic in Muscle Shoals, Ala. on Monday, Nov. 4.
