LITTLE ROCK –
With the cross country season now behind them, the UALR men’s and women’s track and field teams begin their indoor schedules this weekend with a trip to Arkansas State.
Competing in the ASU Kickoff Classic in Jonesboro, the Trojans will have a chance to test their training in the fall against other schools in the non-scored meet.
Things get started at the A-State Convocation Center at 2 p.m. with field events and preliminary track races. Track finals as well as distance events and relays will begin at 3:30 p.m.
UALR has three regular-season track meets on its schedule. The team will head to Jonesboro once more in January for the ASU Invite and then travel to Samford, Ala., on Feb. 7 for the Samford Invitational. The indoor season concludes with the Sun Belt Championship on Feb. 24 in Birmingham, Ala.
Last season, the UALR men took ninth at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, scoring 24 points. The Trojans women did not score at that meet.
