UALR Sports Information
Release: 04/21/2014

LITTLE ROCK – After a successful homestand last week the Trojans return to action with two midweek, in-state games against UAPB and Central Arkansas.

UALR will travel to Pine Bluff to take on the Golden Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday before returning to Gary Hogan Field to host Central Arkansas on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

Last week the Trojans went 3-1 in their four home games with all three wins in come-from-behind fashion. On Tuesday the team fell behind Louisiana Tech 6-0 when the Bulldogs scored in the top of the sixth. UALR stormed back and Ben Crumpton's two-run double gave the Trojans the lead in the eighth. Stephen Chandler picked up the win with three solid innings out of the bullpen.

Over the weekend in a critical Sun Belt series UALR and Troy battled for every game. On Friday night the Trojans fell behind by five, but fought back and tied the game in the fifth. The two team’s pitching staffs took over until Bryson Thionnet finally broke the tie with a walk-off grand slam in the 16th. UALR couldn’t get the big hit that it needed on Saturday and fell 3-0 in 10 innings. On Sunday Troy scored in the top of the first to grab the lead, but the UALR offense exploded with five home runs—three in the first inning—to take the series with a 10-4 win in the series finale. In Sunday's game Cameron Allen earned the win to move to 4-0 at home this season.
