HOUSTON, Texas—The UALR women’s basketball team starts a three game road stint tonight as the Trojans face Rice at 5 p.m. at the Tudor Fieldhouse.  The Trojans enter the game 2-1 after wrapping up a 2-0 weekend at the Preseason WNIT.

For UALR, junior Chastity Reed leads the team in points averaging 22.3 per game and in rebounds averaging 12.0 per game.  Senior Kim Sitzmann averages 13.7 points per game.

Rice enters the match-up 3-0 after losing the team’s last contest at Stephen F. Austin 82-92.  For the Owls, Jackie Stanley leads the team in points averaging 11.0 per game, while Morgan Mayse averages a team high of 4.7 boards.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams with UALR leading the all-time series 2-1.  The Trojans won the last meeting on November 29, 2008 at the Jack Stephens Center 56-53.  The last time the Owls defeated the Trojans was on November 20, 2007 at Rice 39-49.
