LITTLE
ROCK, Ark.—Five current and former student-athletes were selected
to UALR’s Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and
were honored at a reception yesterday sponsored by the Office of Student Life
and Leadership Development. A total of 51 UALR students were selected for this
honor.
The UALR student-athlete
honorees were:
Michelle
Pittman – A senior member of the UALR soccer team from
Albuquerque, N.M., she is majoring in marketing.
Rebecca
McEachern – A senior member of the UALR swimming team from Star
City, Ark., she is majoring in accounting.
Amy
Tran
– A junior member of the UALR swimming team from Medina, Tenn., she is majoring
in mass communications.
Veronique
Luksich – A junior member of the UALR tennis team from East
London, South Africa, she is majoring in criminal justice.
Amy
Hafner – A former member of the UALR volleyball team from
Ovilla, Texas, she is a graduate student majoring in sports management and is
also a graduate assistant for Academic Advising for the UALR Department of
Athletics.
To be nominated for this
honor, undergraduates must have completed 60 hours, enrolled in at least six
hours, and recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Graduate
students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must
be enrolled as a degree seeking student.
