Alma Mater: North Carolina State
Graduating Year: 1992

Entering his second year at UALR in 2013-14, Chris Greenwood was named UALR's Director of Golf on May 14, 2012 after a highly successful seven-year run at Lynn University in which he guided the Fighting Knights to seven-consecutive NCAA Regional appearances and a runner-up finish at the 2011 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship.

In seven seasons at Lynn University, Greenwood guided the Fighting Knights to 16 tournament titles, extended LU's streak of consecutive NCAA appearances to 10 and reached the NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Tournament four times (2006 and 2009-11). His 2010-11 squad won a school-record seven tournaments and complemented its runner-up finish at the 2011 NCAA Division II National Tournament by receiving the Division II Team Academic National Championship award from the Golf Coaches Association of America with a 3.492 cumulative grade point average.

Greenwood is the third head men's golf coach at UALR since the program resumed in 1992-93 after a four-year hiatus. He replaced longtime golf coach Wyn Norwood, who stepped down at the conclusion of the 2011-12 season after leading the UALR golf program for 18 years.

A two-time Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year (2006 and 2008), Greenwood coached 11 All-America selections and eight Academic All-Americans in his seven years at Lynn. In his first year with the program, Greenwood picked up his first SSC Coach of the Year award after guiding LU to its best season since joining the NCAA ranks in 1996-97, as the Fighting Knights won the Sunshine State Conference Tournament and placed fourth at the NCAA Division II National Championship.

Greenwood received his second SSC Coach of the Year award in 2008 after guiding LU to a runner-up finish at the SSC Tournament and the program's sixth-straight NCAA Regional appearance. The Fighting Knights placed ninth at the NCAA Division II National Championship each of the next two years (2009-2010), with the 2010 squad shattering the school record for a 54-hole event with a team score of 844 at the SSC Championship.

His 2010-11 team established school records for the lowest spring (73.39) and overall (73.68) team scoring averages and had a total of 25 top-10 individual finishes. Three players were honored as All-Americans that year, with Daniel Young finishing second at the NCAA Division II National Championship. Greenwood's 2011-12 squad entered the NCAA Regional ranked fifth in the nation according to GolfStat.com, but placed ninth at the 20-team event - the first tournament of the season in which the Fighting Knights finished outside of the top-5.

Greenwood became the head coach at Lynn University in 2005 after a 12-year playing career on the Canadian Golf Tour. A native of Valdese, N.C., Greenwood recorded six victories as a professional, multiple top-ten finishes and set a tournament record by finishing the Eagle Creek Classic at 22-under par. He has also played on the PGA Tour, Nationwide, Tight Lies, Nike, South African PGA, Australasia PGA and the Dakotas tour.

While competing on the Canadian Tour, Greenwood served as the United States Players Representative on the Board of Directors, and the Canadian Tour representative to Srixon, ensuring all players utilize the proper equipment at each event.

A member of the North Carolina State University golf team from 1990-92, Greenwood notched one tournament victory as a collegiate athlete at Duke University's John Ryan Memorial. He graduated from NC State in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in general communications with a concentration in public relations, and joined the Wolfpack as an assistant coach. Prior to NC State, Greenwood attended Virginia Tech where he was an All-Conference selection as a freshman. He is married to the former Nancy Christine Gorey. The couple has two daughters, Savannah Christine and Mackenzie Elizabeth, and one son, Daniel Christopher.
