Dr. Jack Vander Schilden

Dr. Jack Vander Schilden was inducted into the UALR Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003 for his outstanding contributions to Trojan athletics. He has been involved with UALR since joining the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1985, and has donated countless hours since then to the care of Trojan student-athletes. He currently serves as the Jackson T. Stephens Distinguished Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UAMS.

Dr. Vander Schilden graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., where he lettered in football, as an offensive lineman, and wrestling. He was awarded the Fred C. Tucker Memorial Award in 1973, an honor given annually to the outstanding student-athlete at the institution. He then attended Rush Medical College in Chicago, Ill., and earned his M.D. in 1977.

Dr. Vander Schilden was honored in 2007 by the Arkansas Athletic Trainers Association (AATA) at the group’s annual meeting in Little Rock. The AATA presented Dr. Vander Schilden with a Lifetime Honorary Membership Award and renamed one of its scholarships the Dr. Jack Vander Schilden Graduate Student Scholarship.




Dr. Blake McGowan

Dr. Blake McGowan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Political Science in 1994. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and served his residency at Santa Rosa Family Medicine at San Antonio, where he was chief resident. He is board certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Christian Medical/Dental Society and the Pulaski County Medical Society.





Dr. Keith Cooper

Dr. Keith Cooper graduated from Baylor University with a B.A. in Biology in 1991. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas Medical School and served his residency at UAMS, where he was chief resident. He is board certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Pulaski County Medical Society.  He has been in private practice family medicine at the St. Vincent Family Clinic in Little Rock since 1998.




Dr. Scott Davis

Dr. Scott Davis is an interventional cardiologist from Little Rock. He went to medical school at UAMS and did his cardiology training at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.



Dr. Alexandra M. Rivera Vega

Dr. Alexandra M. Rivera Vega graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey in 2000 with a Biology and earned her medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine (Ponce, Puerto Rico) in 2007. She served her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and her Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine.

She is board certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation and as a Sports Medicine specialist. She is an Assistant Professor in the department of  Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.



Dr. R. Lee Hinson Jr.

R. Lee Hinson Jr., DDS, MAGD is an Arkansas native and has practiced general dentistry in Little Rock for over 24 years.  Raised in Little Rock, he attended McClellan High School and was a presidential scholar at the University of Central Arkansas. He was an honor graduate at the University Of Tennessee College Of Dentistry and is a Master in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Hinson has assisted with the sports program at UALR for over 10 years and is married to the former Marsha Ann Kilburn of Dover, AR.  They have two children, Alex, and Katherine Grace.





Dr. David Evans

David L. Evans, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.  After serving in the United States Air Force for four years, he returned to Arkansas to practice optometry.  Dr. Evans has provided eye and vision care at Evans Vision Center in Little Rock since 1981.  He is a member of the Arkansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Evans Vision Center is located across from UALR at 3700 S. University, Suite 19.  Services provided include eye examinations, eyeglasses, contact lenses, and the treatment of eye disease.





Rob Tillman, PT

Dr. Rob Tillman is the president of Ortho Rehab and Specialty Centers. In 1986, he received his degree in physical therapy from the University of Missouri. Rob immediately saw the need to attain a level of clinical competence that would allow him to effectively address the complex needs of his patient population. With this in mind, he enrolled in a post graduate residency training program with the Sorlandets Institute which later became known as the Ola Grimsby Institute.

Dr. Tillman attained the highest level of clinical certification available in the field of orthopedic rehabilitation. Since then, he has received international recognition for his research on the lumbo pelvic system and has written benchmark works on the thoracic and cervical regions, as well. Rob has presented at several national and international conferences on a wide range of healthcare-related topics. He is also a recognized authority in the arena of sports medicine, having been credited with the rehabilitation design and training programs for many professional athletes and organizations including professional baseball, a Super Bowl MVP quarterback, an NBA championship-winning power forward and a four-time golf world long drive champion.




Dr. John Cloud

Dr. John Jutus Cloud was born in Little Rock on May 13, 1957. He is a 1975 graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School and a 1979 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Then he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee Dental School in 1983. He served as the President of the Central District Dental Society of Arkansas and is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Additional post-graduate training includes Las Vegas Institute, Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, and also training in Cerec restorations.

Dr. Cloud married Valerie Oakley on March 3, 1984. They have two daughters: Lauren and Katherine.
