UALR Men’s 4x400-Meter Relay Team Leads UALR Track and Field Teams at Final Day of Sun Belt Outdoor Championships

Texas—For the first time in school history, the UALR men’s
4x400-meter relay team of Daniel Ladd,
John Lamb, Ramon Stewart, and Demond
Burns won the event to cap off the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor
Championships hosted by North Texas.The
UALR men’s and women’s teams recorded top five performances in seven events.
The 4x400-meter relay team
won the event recording a time of 3:15.21.
Burnsplaced third in the 200-meter dash finals with a time of 21.10 and
fourth in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 10.44.
In the men’s 800-meter run
finals, Kyle Houston placed fourth
recording a time of 1:56.61.
Aaron
Batey placed third in the men’s 1,500-meter run recording a
time of 4:00.46, while Houston placed 23rd in 4:33.17.In the women’s event, Grace Rich placed 17th with a time of 4:56.24.
In the women’s 5,000-meter
run, Whitney Kerth placed tenth
recording a time of 18:23.89, while Taylor
Brock recorded a time of 20:14.34 for a 30th place finish.
Jonathan
Cherono was the top Trojan finisher in the men’s 5,000-meter
run placing eighth in 14:57.85, and Brian
Giken placed 12th with a time of 15:12.99.Derek
Allen finished in 16th place in 15:29.33, while Markus Pearson placed 20th
recording a time of 15:38.02.Barrett Kerth recorded a time of
15:43.47 for 23rd place, and Ben
Alexander finished in 30th place in 17:52.22.
The men’s 4x100-meter
relay team of Taron Dunn, Ramon Stewart, John Lamb, and Burns placed fourth in 40.65.
In the men’s hammer, Kirby Atkins placed fourth with a
distance of 53.55m.
Dunn was the top Trojan
finisher in the men’s triple jump placing ninth with a jump of 14.48m, and Marquis Lewis placed 14th
with a distance of 13.47m.
