- Sophomore Kara Raney set a new
school record in the 50 free and the foursome of Raney, senior Jenna Rutecki, freshman Lexie Keller and junior Amber Kelly set a new school mark in the
200 free relay in day two of the Sun Belt Championships at the Rockwall
Aquatics Center. The Trojans currently sit in sixth place with a total of 97
points through two days.
Raney set UALR's first mark after clocking-in in the 50
free event in 23.82, bettering her own mark of 24.13 set at last year's
conference championships. The sophomore placed ninth overall, with Denver's
Rachel Burns taking first place in a time of 23.17.
UALR's second record came when Raney, Rutecki, Keller
and Kelly placed fourth in the finals of the 200 free relay. The foursome
touched in at 1:35.48 to top last year's record of 1:36.07.
Denver currently sits in fourth place overall with 275
points. The Pioneers are followed by WKU (256), North Texas (234), FIU (176),
Florida Atlantic (152) and UALR.
Friday's preliminary action will kick off at 11 a.m.
with the 400 individual medley. Finals begin at 6 p.m.
