ROCKWALL, Texas - The UALR swimming and diving team set four new school records in its final day of competition in the Sun Belt Championships at the Rockwall Aquatics Center. The Trojans ended the four-day event in sixth place, with Denver taking first place for both the men's and women's teams.

Senior Megan Nelson set two records in one race during the 1,650 freestyle. Nelson broke her own school record for the event with a new time of 17:47.50, and during the race also set a new 1,000 free record at 10:37.97. The senior's 1,000 free time breaks Mabel Fernandez's record of 10:44.27 set back in 2003. Swimming in the same event, sophomore Holly Myers finished in 17:56.24 (21^st overall).

Myers also added a 13^th place overall finish in the 200 backstroke. Myers clocked in at 2:07.62 to earn four points for UALR, while senior Jenna Rutecki placed 16^th in the event in a time of 2:08.32.

Freshman Lexie Keller set the first of two new UALR records in the 100 freestyle during the finals of the 100 free. Keller touched in at 52.02 to finish 11^th overall, while sophomore Kara Raney wasn't far behind, finishing in 52.24 and placing 12^th.

In the finals of the 400 free relay, junior Amber Kelly broke Keller's 100 free record from earlier in the day by leading off the event with an opening-leg time of 51.92. The Trojans also set a new school record in the event, as the foursome of Kelly, Raney, Rutecki and Keller finished in 3:29.09 to break the mark of 3:33.81.

In a time trial on Friday, Holly Myers set a new record in the 500 freestyle. Myers broke Kellie Straton's record of 5:09.14 set in 1982 with a time of 5:08.10.

The Trojans set 12 new school records in all over the course of this year's championships. Eight new individual record were set, as well as new relay records in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays.
