LITTLE
ROCK, Ark.—Nine Sun Belt Conference home matches, including five-straight
in November, highlight the 2010 UALR volleyball schedule released today.The Trojans open with three tournaments
before starting conference action at home against Middle Tennessee on Friday,
September 24.
“Our preseason schedule is
tougher this season,” said head coach Van
Compton.“Hopefully, we can beat
these teams and prepare ourselves for our conference.”
Non-conference action for
UALR begins on Friday, August 27 through Saturday, August 28 as the Trojans
compete in the Mississippi State Maroon Classic in Starkville, Miss.The next week the Trojans compete at the UT
Arlington Hilton Invitational Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4 in
Arlington, Texas, before closing out non-conference action Friday, September 10
and Saturday, September 11 at the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.
Sun Belt Conference action
begins on Friday, September 24 as the Trojans host the Blue Raiders at 7 p.m.
at the Jack Stephens Center.On
Saturday, September 25, UALR hosts Western Kentucky at 2 p.m.
“Our conference has gotten
so tough sending two and three teams to the NCAA tournament,” said
Compton.“You feel like you have to
prepare yourself so much more for conference competition.”
The Trojans open the month
of October with five-straight conference road matches starting with South
Alabama on Friday, October 1 and ending with Arkansas State on Friday, October
15.The only home contests in October
for UALR is on Friday the 22nd as the Trojans host FIU and Sunday
the 24th against Florida Atlantic.
UALR wraps up October in
Louisiana facing Louisiana-Lafayette on the 29th and ULM on the 31st.
To close out the 2010
conference season, the Trojans will host five-straight matches beginning with
North Texas on Friday, November 5 and ending with Senior Day on Saturday,
November 13 against ULM.
The 2010 Sun Belt
Conference Championships will be held at Middle Tennessee starting on Thursday,
November 18 and ending on Saturday, November 20.
