UALR Women’s Basketball Signs Taylor Ford to 2010-11 Signing Class

ROCK, Ark.—The UALR women’s basketball team adds the team’s sixth
signee to the 2010-11 class as Taylor
Ford joins head coach Joe Foley’s
squad.Ford along with Asiah Scribner, Whitney Gaston-Loyd, Hannah
Fohne, Karisma Tyson, and Nia Gregory will play for the Trojans
next season.
Ford, a 5-9 guard/forward
from Indianapolis, Ind., competed her senior season at Warren Central High
School where she started as a forward.A
Class 4-A Pre-Season Diamond selection by Indiana
Rim and Hoop, she led the Warriors to the 2010 sectional championship.
Ford was named to the
Preseason Top 15 Seniors to Watch by the Indianapolis
Star and an up and coming player in May 2009 by Slam Magazine.She played in
the Indiana Class 4 Basketball All-Star Classic Game and the Indiana East/West
All-Star Game her senior season.
An academic honor roll
honoree, Ford earned the 2010 Warren Warrior Award for having the top
individual grade point average on the girls basketball team.
As a junior at Tindley
High School in Indianapolis, Ford started as a guard earning Indiana All-State
Honorable Mention honors.She was the
fourth leading scorer in the state averaging 25.2 points per game.
Ford’s freshman and sophomore
seasons were played at Hickman High School in Columbia, Mo. where she started
as a point guard.She helped led the
Kewpies to a 29-2 record and a third place finish at state her freshman season.
