The Trojan soccer program has announced the addition of Megan Zollinger, Danielle Carr and Adrianna Queen.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Head Coach Freddy Delgado and the UALR Trojans soccer program today announced the signing of three players to national letters of intent. The three, Megan Zollinger, Danielle Carr and Adrianna Queen will join Holly Holland and Alicia Irwin, who signed with UALR back on February 3.

Zollinger will come to UALR after transferring from Iowa Western Community College. The Salt Lake City, Utah native graduated from the Academy of Math, Engineering and Science in 2008. Upon graduating from the Academy, where she was an honor roll student, she attended and helped Iowa Western to an 18-1-1 record in 2009. In addition to leading her team to a historic 2009 season, she was selected to the NSCAA Division I Junior College All-Central Region Team and garnered NSCAA First Team All-American honors.

Zollinger, who was First Team Academic All-American, a member of the Presidential Honor Roll and of Phi Theta Kappa at IWCC, should help anchor an improving Trojan defense.

"Megan is a confident and talented central defender," said Delgado. "She brings experience to our defense and allows us to push current players to different positions."

Carr, who most recently attended Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, Calf., will bring two seasons of junior college experience to the Trojans program. Prior to her stop at Santa Rosa JC, Carr lettered one season at San Diego Mesa Community College where she  was second on the team in goals scored, was named First Team All-Pacific Coast Conference and All-State, Second Team All-West Region and led team to the Final Four.

In addition to garnering First Team All-State and All-West Region honors again at Santa Rosa JC, Carr was also named an All-American. She was her team's leading goal scorer and was honored as the Big 8 Offensive Player of the Year.

"Danielle brings excellent physical tools to our back line," said Delgado. "Her game combines very well with our current style of play. She is tough and gritty, but can also attack and play with great skill."

Queen will join the pair of junior college transfers at UALR after lettering at College of Southern Nevada High School in Las Vegas, Nev. She has spent 11 seasons playing club soccer with HB United and one season with Newsport Futbol Club. In addition to excelling on the soccer field, Queen will graduate this spring with an honors diploma. She plans to major in health science at UALR.

"We are extremely excited about Adrianna," said Delgado. "She is a tremendous threat in the attack and an excellent compliment to Christina Veasley."

UALR, who advanced all the way to the Sun Belt Conference Championship game last fall and said farewell to just four seniors, will look for the new additions to continue build the Trojan soccer program to the next level.

"Since we return most of our team from last fall, it was important for us to find student-athletes that will take us to the next level," said Delgado. "These young women have athleticism, soccer savvy and experience. They are very good students, leaders in their community and we are proud to have them as part of our Trojan Family. We expect big things from this class because we know they have great potential."
